Stefan joined Ampersand as an Executive Advisor in 2024, bringing over 20 years of leadership and business development experience within the life sciences sector. He currently serves as Chairman of Ampersand portfolio company VIVEbiotech. Previously, Stefan was the CEO and later President of Vibalogics, another Ampersand portfolio company acquired by Recipharm in 2022. Under his leadership, Vibalogics became a leading global CDMO, specializing in the production of oncolytic viral vectors and viral vector vaccines. Stefan brings extensive experience in transforming family-owned businesses into investor-driven growth companies. He holds a Ph.D. in biology and biotechnology, with a focus on the molecular biology of natural product-producing microorganisms.
